72 Chevelle with Fresh 454

This is my 72 with the 454 freshly rebuilt with a Straub Technologies BBC Retro Hydraulic Roller Cam. It has an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and a Jet Stage 2 Quadrajet. Took it out for a test drive. Very quick. Lot's of acceleration.

After breaking in the engine and setting the timing and carb, we removed the mufflers and ran it with open headers. The engine has a Chris Straub (Straub Technologies Inc.) BBC Retro 288/300 hydraulic roller cam and 9.5:1 compression. Idling at about 700 RPM with 18deg initial advance.

This is the 454 out of my 72 Chevelle. Just rebuilt with a Straub Technologies hydraulic Roller Cam. First start and break in on the engine start stand I just built. My Grandson Wyatt helped me with the engine build and was there for the first start.

I designed and built this Engine Test Stand to break in and tune my newly rebuilt engines before installing them in my cars. This stand collapses to be stored under a bench or stand upright against a wall. Currently on the stand is a 454 all set to go into my 70 Chevelle SS. Thanks. I had yhat engine on the stand for about 8 years. I finally finished a 70 Chevelle and put it in that with a Muncie M22 4 speed.
